ICANN is formed to coordinate Internet identifiers
ICANN was created to coordinate naming and numbering functions needed for one interoperable global Internet.
ICANN does not control all Internet content or infrastructure. Its narrower role includes coordinating DNS, Internet Protocol address allocation and protocol parameters through a multistakeholder system.
