We may collect your name, email address, and securely hashed password when you create an account; your email when you join the NewTqnia Signal; and information you submit through the contact form. Our systems also record limited technical data, such as IP address, browser type, and errors, for security and operations.

2. Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand traffic and page performance. Where consent is required, we do not activate Google Analytics or place its optional cookies before you accept. You can refuse or change your choice at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer. We do not intentionally send names or email addresses to Google Analytics.

3. How we use information

We use information to operate accounts, respond to messages, manage subscriptions, improve content and performance, prevent abuse, protect the website, and meet legal obligations.

4. How information is shared

We do not sell personal information. Data may be processed by hosting, analytics, and technical service providers that help operate the website, or disclosed when required by law or needed to protect users, our rights, or the service.

5. Retention and security

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here and for legal and security requirements. We use access controls, encryption, and reasonable operational safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security.

6. Your choices

You may ask to access, correct, or delete your information, request removal from the NewTqnia Signal, or ask questions about your data through our contact page. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

7. External services and links

Articles may contain links or images from other websites. Those services have their own privacy practices, and NewTqnia does not control them.

8. NewTqnia Start extension

The NewTqnia Start extension displays a local technology dashboard. It may replace the new-tab page in browser editions that permit this; the Opera edition opens the dashboard only when requested and does not change Opera's default start page. Shortcuts, language, preferences, and a cached copy of the news briefing are stored only on your device. The extension requests the briefing from newtqnia.com, where our servers may record the limited operational data described above. In editions that include search, queries are sent through the browser's search API to the user's chosen default provider; the Opera edition has no search feature. NewTqnia does not collect or sell search queries or browsing history.
