Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV)
An untethered robotic vehicle that travels underwater and carries out a programmed or adaptive mission without continuous control from a human operator. It uses onboard navigation, sensors, computing, and propulsion for mapping, inspection, research, or defense tasks.
