    Human cortical organoids occupied 91.9% of the combined cortical tissue volume measured in seven specially engineered mice three months after transplantation. The grafts developed blood supply, neural activity and connections across the host nervous system, offering a way to study human development and injury inside a living body. The tissue remained immature and artificially organized, however. The mice retained a predominantly mouse nervous system, and the experiment demonstrated neither human-like cognition nor a treatment for replacing damaged cortex.
