Weakly Interacting Massive Particle (WIMP)
A hypothetical massive particle that would interact through gravity and possibly the weak nuclear force or another similarly weak interaction. WIMPs are one proposed form of dark matter and are sought through underground detectors, particle colliders and astronomical observations.
