Sensorimotor Cortex

The sensorimotor cortex is the connected set of cortical regions involved in planning and producing movement and in processing bodily sensation. Neural activity there changes when a person moves, attempts to move or imagines movements such as speaking, waving or shrugging. Brain-computer interfaces can sample these patterns, although neighbouring actions may produce overlapping signals.
