Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)
A chronic disease in which lung tissue becomes progressively scarred for no known cause, making breathing and oxygen transfer increasingly difficult. Treatments can slow decline for some patients, but they do not reliably reverse established scarring.
