Epithelial-to-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT)
A cell-state program in which epithelial cells acquire some properties associated with motility and mesenchymal cells. In cancer research, EMT-related signals are studied for possible roles in invasion and therapy resistance, but gene signatures alone do not prove a complete transition.
