Technology term
DNA Data Storage
A method that encodes digital bits as sequences of DNA bases, synthesizes those sequences for physical storage, and later reads them by sequencing and decoding. It offers very high theoretical density and long retention, but current workflows remain slower and costlier than conventional active storage.
